Goals
The goal set by our team is to create 3-5 parts of a Rube Goldberg device to be incorporated with components from other teams into a single Rube Goldberg device. This will be done by making effective use of the limited time we are given. Each team member may have their own grade goals, but it is our goal as a team to attain a mark no lower than a B.

Team Roles/Team Organisation
Each team member is assigned a specific title and duties accordingly. The following are the titles given to each team member

Sean- Team Leader
Maureen- Meeting Manager
Mike - IT Analyst
Damien- Team Administrator

The duties of each team member are described as following:

Team Leader
The team leader has the most important role in the team. He will make sure that the designing process goes in accordance with a preset schedule such that deadlines are met. The team leader ensures that every team member is doing the jobs assigned to him or her. Moreover, he validates the final decision by which all members have to abide.

Meeting Manager
The duties of the meeting manager involve scheduling and arranging needed out of class meetings. The manager will inform all members about the meetings, determine the agenda and take minutes throughout the meetings.

IT Analyst
The duties of the IT analyst include researching and compiling information gathered from reliable sources. The analyst is also responsible for word processing all data for submission.

Team Administrator
The administrator checks the team’s progress makes status reports for the whole designing process. He/she also receives and passes on information about the project to team members.

Team Conduct and Distribution of Grades
In the event of untimely completion, or incomplete work
1.      Definition of Late - task not completed by the date set on timetable.
         Definition of Incomplete - work not fully done, or showing little effort.
2.      If a task assigned to a particular member not completed on the designated date, not completed showing effort, and/or meetings are not attended (without giving advanced notice), the member will be given one strike (without advanced notice or extenuating circumstances).
3.      If a second strike is given, the grade of a member will be lowered by 6% and thereafter, each strike will result in a deduction of another 6%. Deducted percentage points will be added to other members.

Eg. If person A is deducted 6%, all other members will have their grade increased 2% if the work was redistributed evenly.  If one person was required to do more of the redistributed work, he/she will be given extra percentage points.

Team Participation
The work for the entire project will be distributed as equally as possible between team members. Work will be divided on a basis of who is the best at what. In the case of a team member being unable to do complete a task, the member is required to inform the team leader of his/her situation and provide a valid reason. The team leader will then decide how the task is to be carried out between the three remaining team members. Subsequently, the team member who has been unable to complete an assigned task, will be required to do extra working for later assignments. In the event that particular team member is not dedicated to doing the jobs assigned to him/her, their marks will be changed based on the steps outlined in the Team Conduct section.
 
Decisions:
-All ideas and suggestions will be heard.
-Every member will vote when deciding on a strategy, or design idea.
-All members must justify why they are voting a particular way.
-Decisions will be ratified through a majority vote.
-In the case of a tie the ideas will be reevaluated.  If no change in vote occurs after the reevaluation, the opinion of coaches and professors will be obtained.
-After obtaining outside/expert opinions another vote will take place.
-If the vote is still tied the idea will be discarded for the time being, but can be reevaluated at a later date.

Meetings and Communication:
-Email will be used to conduct the majority of communication between members outside of class time.
-Email should be checked at least once daily to obtain updates, and coordinate project related tasks.
-A weekly scheduled group meeting will occur at the end of the long lab on Friday’s.  This meeting will be approximately 15-20 minutes in length, and will be used for general coordinating of tasks and giving updates on where each group member is at with their assigned duties.  Also during this meeting, group participation will be discussed, and team contract will be amended in terms of grade distribution if there is a need.
-As mentioned in the participation section, all group members will be required to be present at all meetings and will only be excused with prior notice.
-If a member is sick and will not be present for a meeting or lab, they will email everyone to inform them of their absence.
-Additional meetings will be scheduled outside of lab time when needed.

Team Assessment
For team assessment and feedback, each team member will answer the following two questions in writing, which will be discussed during the weekly team meeting.
What is working well in our group project?
What could we be doing better or what isn’t working?
