In this experiment, the formula is used to find the latent heat of vaporizations and normal boiling pointof ethanol and n-propanol. This experiment allows people to see how the vapor pressure of n-propanol and ethanol is affected by pressure and temperature. As pressure is higher, the temperature is lower and vice versa. From a series of calculations, the latent heat of vaporization for ethanol is 885.71kJ/kg, and 768.50kJ/kg for n-propanol. Consequently, the normal boiling point for Ethanol is calculated to be 352.29Kand n-propanol is 369.76K. The coefficients A and C are also found. The coefficients A are 4907.94K for ethanol and 5554.37K for n-propanol. The coefficients for C are 18.55 for ehanol and 19.64 for n-propanol. A pressure-composition diagram for mixtures of the two substances is also plotted. As the results have only a small deviation from the reference values, the experiment is successful.
